Not quite sure how to use a View Selector?
It’s simple – just add two or more view types into a single report, then select View Selector from the Add View drop down list within the Compound Layout view on the Results tab. On the left in the Available Views, you will see a list of all of the report objects that your report contains. Select a view and use the arrow buttons to move Available Views into Views Included. You should only select true “report” objects (for example, you normally would not want to allow the user to flip the report title on or off).
When allowing the user to select between data views and chart views, you can keep the object name simple such as “Bar Chart” or “Tabular View”. If you want to allow the user to flip between complex views (such as one cross tab containing dollars and another cross tab containing units), you will need to get more specific such as “Revenue Dollars versus Forecast and Last Year Cross-Tab”. You can use the Rename button to give each Included View a customized, user-friendly name.
The last trick is that you then need to remove any of the original objects from the compound layout, except for the view selector, and other objects such as the filter object, or report title. Refer to the Oracle documentation for more detailed instructions.
